Whakawhanaungatanga. Trust.

We acknowledge the importance of having a trusted source of information in order to make an informed decision about getting your immunisations. This initiative has been created to support you and your whānau on the immunisation process.

We are guided by Māori, for Māori. We listen to the science and the health experts who are dedicated to the hauora of our communities and whānau. We are not just asking you to do what the government tells you to.

We understand there's no one-size-fits-all solution, and that's why we’re here to tautoko.

Why should we get immunised?

As an individual, getting immunised strengthens your body’s defence system (your immunity) against different infections like the flu or measles. Being immunised reduces the risk of these infections, lowers the chances of transmission and can prevent serious outbreaks.

As more people get immunised, we develop a collective immunity, making it harder for infections to move between people. This ensures our people’s health and wellness in times like winter where it is much needed.

This collective immunity protects our whānau, our tamariki, our future.

Getting immunised is free and takes less than 30 minutes. It’s an easy way to care for our loved ones.

Who are we getting immunised for?

Getting immunised is part of a collective action to ensure that the health among all of our communities across Aotearoa are protected; our pepei, our mokopuna, our kaumātua, and our whānau with underlying health conditions.

When everyone who is able to get immunised, do get immunised, the collective immunity we achieve will nurture the wellbeing of our whānau during times it's especially important like winter.

That’s why we’re encouraging all eligible Māori to receive their immunisations. Whether you’re doing it for yourself or for others, to prevent serious outbreaks in our community - which can cause great harm to the health andd safety of our whānau, this is the best way to support the future of Māori.
